The Not Cash Cab

Friday night, I was travelling from Clinton Hill to Prospect Park.  Also know as my sisters apartment to my place.  Brie, Mokey and I were looking to get home quickly so I flagged down a cab.  Now, whenever I flag down a cab in NYC I am always secretly hoping it'll be the cash cab.  Well this wasn't a van so I knew it wouldn't be the cash cab.  But I also didn't think it was going to be a ministry on wheels, driven by a slightly crazy man who called himself Pastor Phil, that was called Rolling for Jesus.  But wouldn't you know it, it was.

Tea With Madame Bovary

Mme. Bovary, I do not like you
(But I appreciate your visit.)
You’re overblown
And speak of nothing
Still, I treasure your company.

I’m expecting a visit from Don Quixote
(He’s meeting me at the White Castle)
He has things to say.
You could learn from him, Madame.
Still, I treasure your company.

I think it’s time you leave
There are other I must meet
Sherlock’s in the shithouse shooting up
And Godot’s waiting for me
Still, I treasure your company.

Siiiiiiick :-(

This morning I woke up to hours of fierce hiccuping, followed by naseau and a headache.  One of the benefits of being unemployed is that I can stay in bed when I am sick.  But I still managed to get stuff done, so it wasn't a wasted day like most sick days.

Tachyons...grumble

I think I might have an irrational fear/obsession with time travel.  It's similar to the fear/obsession many claim to have with zombies.  It's that fine line between "Holy shit...I hope this never happens to me."  and "God it would be exhilarating!"

Subway Rides...A Comedians Best Friend

Today, for the third time since I started to regularly use the MTA two years ago, I became enraptured with a conversation someone on the subway was having with NOT me.

In today's case, the conversation was between a man and his lady companion.  Now this man had one of two possible problems.  Either he was a lunatic OR, he had absolutely no concept of what a joke is.  In either case he was incredibly amused with what he was telling his lady companion.  The story, or at least the part of it I hear, went as follows:

Hello modern world!

To those who know me, yes, the rumors are true.  I have begrudgingly embraced to comforts of modern day technology and am now on the path to become a technology obsessed drone with an inability to function without a computer or (horrors) without an iphone!

To those of you who are strangers, welcome to TheEdCress.blogspot.com.  I have one of them thar blog things here, but also this site has multiple pages for you to browse at your leisure.  I encourage you to read some of my plays or short stories, view my videos and listen to my audio dramas.   Though there isn't much there now, I know, but I am hoping this blog/website will encourage me to be more prolific.

I will attempt to update this blog daily with long winded observations, embarrassing revelations and short, pointless entries when I am feeling lazy...which will be often.  For now, I will just say hi, and leave it at that.  Explore!  Read!  View!  Listen!  Other verbs!  I'll talk to you all soon.
