The Starving Artists company is entering the theatre scene this summer with it’s five week introductory series called “The Starving Artists Series.” From June 29th-July 29th you will have the opportunity to enjoy five weekends of brand new, never before seen theatre. June 29th-July 1st: Grammy Jeans Spaghetti Dinner By TheEdCress Spend the weekend with the free spirited Grammy Jean Harper, her grand-daughter Samantha and her fiance Phillip (who's not so free spirited) as she serves up spaghetti, toast and a healthy dose of embarrassment.   Starring Cathy Cullen, Robert Domingo, Jenmarie Byrnes, Arianne Forella, Thomas J. McKenna and Mike Natale. Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Sunday matinee at 2pm. Adults: $15 Seniors: $10 July 6th-8th: A staged reading of “The Devil is a Busy Man” by Sean Behrens Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Sunday matinee at 2pm. Tickets: $5 July 13th-15th Three Rats by TheEdCress Three Rats follows the bungling duo of thieves Dewhurst and Dungberry on a misadventure in the LaFayette Laboratories. Dewey "teaches" Dung several lessons during their caper and the pair make a discovery that could change the very world as we know it.   Starring Jason Forella and TheEdCress as the bumbling duo, and Thomas J. McKenna as Prof. Julius Lafayette. Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Sunday matinee at 2pm. approximate running time, one hour with no intermission. Adults: $15 Seniors: $10 July 20th-22nd The Devil Does Care by L. C. Cragg The Devil Does Care, based on, "the devil may care" attitude involves two adulterers who do what all lovers think about. They run away to a love nest, abandoning their families, and responsibilities. However, these lovers actions are not without doubts and consequences. As this passionate relationship unravels, realities surface as to the price to be paid to their devious landlord, resulting in dire consequences. Friday and Saturday at 8pm. TheEdCress is proud to announce the “Starving Artists Series” to be presented at the Wantagh CAP center in July! This series will showcase the works of new playwrights who are just waiting to be discovered. There are only three weekends open, so if you have a play (or two...or three) you want to share with the world, this is your chance.
